Disc golf in East Estonia

Forest golf, elevation and unusual landscapes make Ida-Viru a strong choice for a dedicated disc golf trip.

Why play here?

East Estonia has a stronger destination feel than a simple collection of local stops. Alutaguse offers several layouts at one forest venue, Mäetaguse brings long open golf and Aidu adds the unusual setting of a former oil-shale quarry.

Planning your trip

Getting around

Public transport reaches the main towns, but a car is strongly recommended for a disc golf trip. The Region’s most distinctive venues sit outside a single city centre and are much easier to combine by road.

Where to base yourself

Jõhvi is a practical central base for covering different parts of Ida-Viru County. If Alutaguse is the main reason for your visit, staying closer to the sports centre can make a course-heavy trip simpler.

Good to know

East Estonia is worth giving more than a rushed stop when disc golf is the priority. It combines naturally with North Estonia from Tallinn or with Tartu Area if you continue south.
